white cowbell oklahoma at ted's wrecking yard, saturday july 14th, 2001. you had to see it to believe it......
the band, white cowbell oklahoma.
www.whitecowbell.com hot, sweaty, packed, loud, surreal, offensive. the show i mean.
who the hell are these guys?
everybody got up on stage sooner or later or naked.
my buddy ron instigated my coming out to see the show. thanks ron. bravo.
look! a double red neck
all the while a six foot painting is being created by the side of the stage. a drunken crowd fails to notice that they are getting covered in paint. good times are had.
out of control good times.
i was permitted to get naked with
the colonel backstage between sets....just a sweet kid underneath, really...
he was on fire i say! on fire!
i say he was on fiiiiiiire!
are you even allowed to do that????
an eyefull of an evening, many were dressed for the occassion
my other buddy ron was caught in
full hick regalia, who knew?
moira and myself erred on the side of extreme fashion caution. truth is i didnt know or i would have been in sequins and cut offs to be suuuuure.
the moist and fragrant crowd sang
along to leonard skynard and a variety of other knee-slappin covers.
these guys must have been plants in the audience. but their white-trashiiness seemed so real.
what redneck gathering would be complete without a little contest
automatic water pistols and well
shook beers gave the crown a much needed cooling off.
the winner peeled her tshirt off and stole the show.
at this point they drag the sopping wet painting on to the stage for auction, first bid starting at one grand.
the art.
the artist.
funny how them sunglasses can make anyone look cool. i mean that in the best way.
the colonel starts to lose it..
flames shotting from a freekin cross already!
the grand finale
thats all folks.
